I love building and designing brands that move culture forward. This could be fashion, architecture, technology, or electronics. I love working with visionaries who are crazy enough and care enough to think they can change the world.

I own a brand building agency, 321 Takeoff, and I write a brand column for the Huffington Post called Best and Worst Dressed Brands of the Week. From time to time I am asked to comment on television about brand like when a baseball team changes their logo or Tropicana changes there identity to the detriment of their audience.

This is how it works: Every week I go to events and also interact with products/services/icons. I review how these brands evoked important milestones in our life. Or not. I write about how well or terrible they fit into our lives and our cultural landscape. It’s the nuances that amaze me.

I used to go to AC just so I could wear my SBD (sl*tty black dress). When we arrived on Saturday it seemed Atlantic City was imbued with a touch of, dare I say, sexy–most likely beholden to The Borgata. I’d wondered for a moment if maybe AC was indeed this sexy or if maybe it was me who had become increasingly tacky and desensitized to all things gaudy and actually found them sexy? This wasn’t so. I looked up to the infinite ceiling at The Water Club and thought to myself, “AC is no longer about walking in large groups in slow motion like Mob Wives, or wearing fanny packs and hair extensions. It’s definitely about sexy.”

Ten of us came to Atlantic City to see David Guetta. I know what you are thinking. If David Guetta is at the Borgata (as Tiesto will be March 30) Atlantic City could no longer be considered the place where famed musicians or entertainers go to die. It is the place they go to prevail. To prepare us for the long night ahead, my best friend and I were set on massages at the Immersion Spa in The Water Club. With little time before dinner and not booking enough in advance, we agreed that the couple’s massage was the best item on the menu since it was also the only room available. After a little Yuzu sugar scrub and a detoxifying ginseng and sea kelp mask wrap, foot massage, and scalp massage, we were ready to get ready for Guetta.

Cut to Mixx nightclub at The Borgata at the foot of the stage, all of us wearing candy colored perforated sunglasses gazing at David Guetta. Then I saw Brendan. My friends dared me the duration of the concert to find a Sunday brunch date. I was popping and creeping when Brendan looked at me through his perforated glasses and reached out his hand. I knew Brendan was my brunch soul mate the minute he first twirled me. We were in our own post-modern tongue in cheek fairytale. It was Dancing With The Stars moves to the beats of David Guetta. He lifted me up in the air, I felt like a bird. Smiling with hands spanning wide above his head. We danced like Robbie Kardashian and Cheryl Burke. We were the #winning couple. Brendan was my perfect score.

Wall-to-wall tropical plants and cascading waterfalls, The Sun Room took my dance partner and I to the next level that morning. I ordered the smoked salmon pizzette. He had the pork grits. He gave me his pinky ring. Atlantic City really is for lovers

Title: In Out Side to Side
